Martin participated in MSU Softball’s effort to provide support to those Springfield area families in need during the holiday season; Each year the SAAC asks every student-athlete to donate at least $1.00.  These donations are used to purchase Christmas gifts for families or children that otherwise would not have gifts during the holiday season. She participated in MSU Softball’s Adopt-A-Street effort to clean and restore various streets on and around campus. She volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in service effort to build and restore homes with the help of the partner families, which are then sold to the partner families at no profit and financed with affordable, no-interest loans; the softball Bears were also involved with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in the fall of 2005.

She helped lead Missouri State Softball’s effort to raise over $1000 for the Women’s Sport foundation’s GoGirlGo! program, which aims to educate girls about health-risk behaviors and life lessons on topics such as body image, bullying, diversity, smoking, drugs and stress, while also encouraging girls to be leaders and activists in their schools and communities by getting inactive girls involved in physical activity. She also participated in MSU Halloween in the Halls program that provides a safe trick-or-treat experience in which student-athletes are stationed with candy in Forsythe Athletics Center and various dorms across campus.
