Classroom:A standout on the diamond, Schutzler has more than excelled in the classroom by maintaining a 3.86 GPA in psychology. In 2006, she was chosen as the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American of the Year for all of NCAA Division I softball. Lindsay is also a two-time ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American and All-District IV choice as well as a three-time Academic All-SEC selection.
Character:Lindsay has taken over a leadership role for the 2006-07 campaign as a team captain and is expected to guide the team as an example both on and off the field of play.
Competition:UT’s career leader in hits (324), runs (213) and stolen bases (103), Lindsay is one of just 11 known NCAA Division I softball players in history to achieve the “3-2-1 Club” distinction of recording 300 hits, 200 runs and 100 steals in her playing career…A two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American and All-South Region selection as well as All-SEC choice, she is currently a member of the U.S. National Team selection pool…Was tabbed to the preseason watch list for the prestigious USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year award in both 2006 and 2007...Holds a career batting average of .385 over 264 career games played.
