Classroom:A seven-semester member of the Dean’s list (2005-present), Amanda Renth recorded a 3.85 grade-point average in the fall semester of her senior year and owns a 3.62 cumulative GPA. Renth is a biomedical engineering major and is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Engineering Society and Biological Engineering Club. With consistent high marks in her classes, Renth has been named to the Academic All-Big 12 team in both years in which she was eligible (2006 and 2007, freshmen are not eligible).
Character:Known for her sense of humor and ability to find the good in people, Amanda Renth is a dynamic leader on the Missouri softball team as well as in the community. Never one to let her temper get the best of her, Renth always demonstrates the highest level of classy, sportsmanlike behavior. Renth thinks nothing of giving back to her community, and has struck a successful balance between school, softball and community service.
Competition:A three-time All-Big 12 Conference member and 2007 All-Midwest Region team member, Amanda Renth is one of Missouri’s biggest threats at the plate. To date, Renth owns a .308 career batting average, recording a .319 at the close of her junior campaign. Ranked fourth in Missouri’s career home run record, book, Renth has crushed 24 long balls, with 14 hit her junior season. Renth has 145 career hits and has scored 50 runs in the Missouri black and gold. Strong in the field, Renth owns a .990 fielding percentage and has made only nine errors in three years.
As a junior, Renth went 2-for-3 against eventual National Champion, Arizona, with both hits clearing the fence for home runs. Renth’s first home run was a three-run homer that gave Missouri its first lead of the game. The Tiger finished the three-day stint in Arizona with a .600 batting average, 2.00 slugging percentage and was intentionally walked six times. Renth has crushed four grand slams in three years and holds a .516 slugging percentage.
