Classroom:Toocheck carries a 3.904 cumulative grade point average heading into spring semester of senior year as a special education major. She was named to Academic All-MAC Team in both 2006 and 2007 and is a three time National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete. She will graduate in December of 2008. Her goal is to teach and coach upon graduation.

Every time Jessica steps into a classroom as a student or a teacher or on a softball field as a player or a coach, she demonstrates an incredible drive to succeed with passion, enthusiasm, and heart. It is a joy to watch her play due to her hustle, intensity, and will to win. She demonstrates those qualities in everything she does and inspires everyone around her to be better. As a leader of the KSU softball team, Jessica Toocheck is one of those rare individual’s who is always putting others first. She is one of those people who really understands that life is about helping others and in doing so gains happiness. She will always give 100 percent of herself to whatever it is she is doing."

Competition:Named to All-Region Second Team in 2007, earned All-Mid-American Conference First Team honors in both 2006 an 2007, earned a spot on 2006 MAC All-Tournament Team. She has started every game Kent State has played since her freshman season started. She hit .345 as a junior and led team with .455 on-base percentage. As a sophomore, she led the Flashes with a .316 batting average and belted eight homers and led KSU in hits (45) and home runs (6) as a freshman. She carries a .314 career batting average heading into senior season with 96 runs scored, 19 doubles, 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 19 stolen bases. She has been selected to several all tournament teams, including Fresno State as a freshman and at the University of Hawaii as a junior while competing against some of the top teams in the country at both tournaments. Her name will appear in several categories in KSU record books upon the completion of her career.
